We did it again this year and it was so much fun. There were 10 members plus 7 newbies-it's always great to welcome new OBW(?)'s into our group. There were quite a few of the youngsters in geocaching, too. We love making new friends. Had some good meals and lots of great storytelling. We didn't let the downpour just 30 minutes before our event deter the fun we had. Congratulations to RickAnn for winning the gift certificate. We'll see you again next year,

Found another couple
Welcome Ron & Penny Huelat(Huelat Packers) who live in Tualatin, OR( just south of Portland). Haven't met them but found a cache in their front yard back in 2008 when we were out that way after attending GW 6 in Sacramento. Unfortunately they were out of town when we tried to "visit" them. Had e-mailed them and asked them to join our group but they forgot about it. Now I have "bugged" them again and they happily become our newest members. Official membership cards are in the mail to them as we speak. Hopefully they will post a post on here and tell us about themselves.

It's Official(?)-maybe or maybe not
I THINK I got a count of how many OBW(?)'s were at GW 8. Would you believe I went thru all the posts from the event (over 1000) to get the names. As far as I can see, there were 39 in attendance. That doesn't count any new folks that might have been enlisted. I don't recognize the guy without a hat in the picture below and the couple to the right of Charlotte(Hikers2). Hopefully someone will give me their names.
Here's the list I came up with:
Hikers2
Old Hippy & Granny
Ahuimanu Hui
Team Snook
Hobos
Mr. Pattytracker
2 rusty whalers
Steve 'n Nancy
Mountain_Wanderer
Joensue
Grandfolks
Mrs. Ice Cream Man
2 Hillbillies
2GeoHounds
Tammo(from Germany)
Rock 'n Crystal
Look'n Good
Sailorscodgers
Geofogies
Bob from S & BC
Now my numbers only come up to 35 but that's still a great showing.
Let's see how many can make it to Warren, PA next Jlu for GW 9.

GeoWoodstock 8 in Seattle
Thanks to Hikers2 for arranging the group picture while out there. Haven't come up with a total yet but I know there were over 20 OBW(?)'s attending. Thanks to Lookin'Good for the pictures that they have posted and hopefully there will be some more. GW9 will be in Warren, PA next 4th of July so put it on your calendar and we'll see how many we can meet up with there.
150 and counting
We added a new couple to our ranks this week to put us over 150 and strong. Please welcome Bob & Suzanne Paganelli who posted they would be attending GW9 next July in Warren, PA. They fulltime in their motorhome and are presently out in Oregon but will be spending this winter in FL. They have a cute caching name: Rvn4Caches or as he put it-
Keybird22(her) + Blackdragon2458(him) = Rvn4Caches
Hopefully they will give us a little bio here on the site.

OBW members @ GW8 Seattle
Thanks to the efforts of Charlotte & Richard (Hikers2), the OBW group met for a picture on July 3 at GeoWoodstock8 in Seattle, WA. We all shared stories of how we met Sharon & Joe, then gathered at the entrance for a group picture. Wish I knew everyone's names but they are lost somewhere on a piece of paper!!! Ahuimanu Hui are in yellow shirts (far right), Hikers2 next to them, and Lookin'Good in red shirts in the back. Perhaps the others will identify themselves. Hope to see everyone at GW9 in PA next year!

Going to GW 8 in Seattle?
If you are going to GeoWoodstock up in Seattle over the 4th of July weekend, please contact our OBW(?) member, Charlotte Moore. She wants to try to get everyone together somewhere that day for a group picture.
nhsmilie@aol.com
NashvilleJoe and I won't be able to attend this year. We already had a family trip to Disney World in FL planned for just before the big event.
Everyone have a wonderful time and we'll be anxious to hear reports from those who went.

Condolences
It is with a sad heart that I report the passing of one of our OBW(?)'s. They were a delightful couple we met while on our way back from GeoWoodstock that was in Sacramento in 2008. We cached with them one day while in Basin, WY. Please remember Bob.

Good Reports
Just back from a visit to the doctors in Texas and all was good. The hip doctor said the X-rays couldn't look better and he was very happy. I don't have to see him again for a year. He encourages me to be careful and to continue with my friend, the cane. The infection doctor says that all my lab work is normal and now lets me take the anti-fungal meds every other day. I will continue to have blood work done on a regular basis and will see her in a year when I go back to Texas. That's all for now.

What fun!!!!!!!
The View(Ed & Nancy, along with Henry the basset hound) called us and said they would be in town for a few days and could we get together. You bet!!!!!! We love to meet OBW(?)'s every chance we get. We met them at their RV site and then found a few caches together before enjoying a lovely meal. That's what this is all about. Safe travels and hope to see you again soon.
This is what OBW(?)'s is all about
It's a double pleasure tonight as we go to meet 2 OBW(?) friends who also have the same type of motorhome we have and belong to the same group. We met them at a rally out in Oregon and introduced them to geocaching at a little seminar we gave there. We took them out for their first cache find and they've been traveling and caching ever since. Looking forward to a great meet/greet/eat/cache adventure tonight. Pictures to follow.

Found another OBW(?)-event in KY
Now here we all are at a flash mob event in Oak Grove, KY and I just have to ask this nice "young" man if he is 60? He laughs and says he is so I told him I wanted him to be the newest member of our OBW(?) group. I told him what it stood for and he said he wasn't sure about the "wiser" part so I said none of us did so he would fit right in. Please welcome Silver Guy from Hopkinsville, KY.

Another couple
Sat down at my desk this morning to add Willwgw to our roster and had e-mail from a couple that had stopped by my earthcache on their way home to AR and invited them to join us. Won't tell you how old he is, he'll have to do that, but he says they would love to join us so welcome Rich & Faith Marshall of Garfield, AR. I'm waiting on e-mail from him to let me know where that is in northwest AR. I'm hoping Rich will put a write-up on here and include a pictures.

Found another OBW(?)
4 OBW(?)'s attended event in middle Tenn today: AbbysGrammy, Sis, Willwgw, NashvilleJoe
So NashvilleJoe and I were at an event this afternoon and met up with a nice "young" man and I asked him if he was 60. When he "fessed up" that he was, I invited him to be the newest member of our OBW(?) group. Welcome Will Westberry (aka willwgw) from here in middle Tennessee. I was so anxious to meet him because he always puts poems on the logs that he writes. Check him out.
